I Feel Like a Little Part of Me Just Died

Oyasumi Hologram’s been kind of quiet lately, and that stands to reason in times like these (Kanamil’s birthday notwithstanding), but as always be careful what you wish for, as quiet can also be a harbinger of bad things. And so it was when I perked up earlier at seeing a new tweet from OyaHolo official, which was precisely the wrong damn reaction to have to seeing this particular tweet:

In other words, 8-chan’s out effective tomorrow — as a friend, not a foe, and will probably be around to some extent — but OYSM now consists just of Kanamil, and what that future looks like is up for discussion. Continue reading

It May Be a Gag, But It Could Also Be My New Favorite Oyaholo Song

April Fool’s Day falls somewhere on the idol holiday ranking spectrum between Halloween and Twin Tails Day, though an argument could be made that more energy and creatively goes into getting a rise out of fans with excellently crafted jokes and spit-takes than into the rest of idol’s annual cycles combined. And as it should be! We here at Homicidols Dot Com clearly enjoy having fun with (and often making fun of) idols and the self-serious loutishness that all too often adheres itself to the scene.

That said, nothing says loving quite like idols embracing the spirit of the day and going all-out in the pursuit of laughs, even at their own expense. And nothing does that better than Oyasumi Hologram absolutely knocking this out of the park:

What’s funny (not in the way that they intend, or maybe!) is that this nods directly at the stripped-down, lilting ethereal work that’s Oyaholo’s calling card at even their rockin’est, but folks who know are well aware of their collaborations with VMO and how frighteningly well August-chan and Kanamil work in a black metal kind of framework. So it’s like a double piss take!

I love this so much, I wish I could frame it.

That Time OYSM & Necroma Performed At a Mausoleum

The latest adventure in the USA with NECRONOMIDOL (This time accompanied by Oyasumi Hologram.) has come to a close! It’s always fun to take in the experience through the eyes of other fellow fans as these shows make their way across the tour, and get a new perspective of these events as other people see them. As circumstances would have it, Team Homicidols was unable to represent at this tour, mainly because real life is stupid and piles on it’s own commitments. Perhaps one day, idols will overthrow the wicked forces that run this world, oppressively placing demands upon us that distract from what’s really important, which is going to idol mass and paying proper respects to our deities.

Until that day happens, we thankfully have wonderful friends of Homicidols like Killer Cashew. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the Cashew and Asto, his partner in crime, and they’re terrific people who deserve great experiences like this tour. I’m glad that they were able to enjoy the show, and I’m indebted to Mr. Cashew for taking time to contribute an account of the evening in his own words. Let’s read about the fine art and dark visions he witnessed!

Hi, Killer Cashew here. Normally I’m a quiet follower of the Homicidol community, but due to circumstances, none of the usual contributors were able to attend the Oyasumi Hologam/NECRONOMIDOL leg of the crowdfunded world tour. I was asked if I wanted to share some details of my experience and so here we are…
