50 Greatest Alt-Idol MVs of All Time: #1 – 10

We made it!! It has been a log journey, but we have finally arrived:

Here are the TOP TEN MUSIC VIDEOS EVER as chosen by the readers of Homicidols dot com via  a long, convoluted process that has been covered in depth elsewhere.

As always, each MV is accompanied by commentary from one or more of the individuals who nominated it way back in May or June when we started this process and the Team. I’ll keep the pre-amble short though because what you really want to know is: WHO MADE THE TOP TEN?

Your Homicidols Weekender #353

I am back from my vacation and want to send out a special, “Thank you!” to Papermaiden for taking on Weekender duties while I slacked off in Mexico City.

While I did get a little rest on my time off, I am ready for my next adventure, so it’s a good thing that Saboten Con is happening next weekend in Phoenix. This year’s chika idol guest is fashion punk unit, Tokyo Psychopath. If you are attending, be sure to snag your ticket to the VIP events put on by our friends at Chaotic Harmony. They always present some unique opportunities to interact with idols that you will not get anywhere else.

We Interview Idols: Isiliel – Himari Tsukishiro

Back on July 4th, we had the opportunity to sit down with Himari Tsukishiro shortly after she had finished the last of her eight performances at Anime Expo 2023.  The stop at AX marked about the halfway point of Himari’s debut world tour as Isiliel, her solo idol project. Still outfitted in cosplay as Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy, Himari spoke to us very candidly about the challenges of the world tour, the origins of her solo project, and her thoughts on the future of NECRONOMIDOL, the legendary idol unit of which she is currently the sole remaining member.

Your Homicidols Weekender #352

Daemon is traveling this week, so as to not break the impressive streak of 352 consecutive weekends, I’m in charge of the weekender this week! It’s been a rocky week, so click through for some happy news, less happy ones and, as always, good music

Your Homicidols Weekender #351

It’s been a rough year to be an alternative idol fan.  Zsasz are just the latest of Homicidols’ favorites to call it quits  one week after we learned of Minna no Kodomochan’s disbandment. The number of Homicidols A-list units who have disbanded or entered a state of indefinite hiatus in 2023 is pretty astounding: BiSH, Zenbu Kimi No Sei Da., SIPP, KAQRIYOTERROR, NELN, RILISREVERSE, DARE MO SHIRAINAI, CROSSNOESIS

And we still have four months of the year to go.

50 Greatest Alt-Idol MVs of All Time: #11 – 20

It is the next-to last chapter in our countdown of the Top 50 alt, indie, and underground idol MVs ever as chosen by the Homicidols community, a group of music aficionados with impeccable taste as evidenced below.

Strangely, none of the videos that ranked 11 through 20 won a Best MV of the Year award, although one of the tunes did win Song of the Year. It also appears that I made an error last week in identifying “Hallellujah” by  Shihatsu-machi Underground as our countdown’s most-nominated MV with four nods. It turns out that one of this week’s entries edged them out with five. As always, commentary from the nominating parties are included below. Some of them have more to say than others.

Your Homicidols Weekender #350

Welcome to weekender number 350. Hooray!

Every Saturday for 87 months or, to put it another way, 6.75 years, Homicidols has been delivering your weekly digest of alt, indie, and underground idol news and new releases. I was going to do something a bit special to mark the occasion but we have instead entered a period official mourning.  The news just boke yesterday:

Homicidols favorite, two-time Corenamnet and three-time  Best of the Year award winner,  Minna no Kodomochan will be disbanding:
