I threw this post together real quick, but I just felt that it was essential to get it published today (aka. tomorrow in Japan).
One of the denizens over on the Homicidols Discord server tipped me off to a brand new idol unit and hooked me up with their producer. I was blessed with a sneak peak of their self-titled debut album which is dropping digitally today on Soundcloud. It is pure neon fire.

We got lots of surprises this week, many of which are detailed down in the Oshi Lost & Found Corners, but there were a few unexpected new overseas live announcements as well. Before we get to that I got some great news on the home front. I’ve improved enough in the last few weeks that my doctor gave me the OK to travel. That means I will be immediately heading to Los Angeles:
Yurapico hits LA next weekend for a performance with Aonyan (ex. Dempagumi Inc.) and a lineup of kaigai idols including Berry and Phoebe.

Homicidols Idol of the Year 2024 winner, Yurapico is returning to America in just a few short weeks!! She will be performing at a taiban in LA alongside Aonyan, (ex. Dempagumi.inc) and kaigai idols including Phoebe and Berry.

I know it’s been a bit of a week and I am sure I am missing some stuff. The Oshiloss and Oshifound corners seem particularly crowded. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been encountering some challenges with my health lately. I saw yet another specialist this week who has some ideas for an actual diagnosis of what is wrong with me, but he also upped my prescription by a factor of nine. My brain is definitely fuzzier than normal, and normal is fairly flighty.

New idol units are springing up all over (including Hong Kong) as the first cherry blossoms appear in Shizuoka while it’s snowing in Tokyo, the crazy idol circle of life continues. We cover a couple of the latest potential contenders for Debut of the Year down in the Oshifound Corner.
In the meantime, we need to get back to important business, namely, helping pick my next Kami Oshi. This week’s contender is Todoroki Meru of Kaishin no Ichigeki.

Mazari is one of our favorite new units and we were just getting familiar with it’s members when the worst possible news arrived this week: the unexpected passing of member Urin Kokoro. We are dedicating this issue of the Weekender to the memory of Urin-chan, an idol who was taken from us far too soon. May she rest in peace and find happiness in the afterlife.
