Your Homicidols Weekender #427

It was a realtively quiet week for idol news and new releases which is fine by me for once. I’ve got a few issues in Real Life™ that have been demanding most of my energy and emotional bandwidth, so I’m OK with a little less excitment in at least one aspect of my life. We still have some significant things going on like:

PLANCK STARS Goes Supernova

When a star reaches the end of its life, it collapses in on itself, triggering a supernova: a gargantuan explosion that launches massive amounts of energy and matter out into space. PLANCK STARS, the idol unit of Bohemian bad kids scheduled to disband on February 9, was instead quietly slinking towards death, languishing in their final throes.  After six years of raucous provocation and controversy, it was odd to think that Plasta might fade away quietly into the night. Your Homicidols Best of 2024

And the winners are…

In our last official act before we close the books on Idol Year 2024 and bind the records over to the abandoned missile silo that serves as the Homicidols Historical Archive, I am proud to present your Best of the Year award winners!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the nominations and voting. We fielded a very diverse crop of candidates and winners proving that the world of alternative, indie, and underground idol remains as vibrant, varied, and exciting as ever.  This year’s multiple-award winners are almost evenly split between distinguished veterans (like MIGMA SHELTER and Broken By The Scream) and ambitious rookies (such as Phantom Siita and FINGER RUNS).
