Your Homicidols Weekender #327

We saw a changing of the guard this week. For the past couple of years, the top Google searches that ultimately led visitors to this site remained pretty consistent: BABYMETAL, LADYBABY, Candye Syrup, ATARASHII GAKKO!, Broken by the Scream and PassCode. This past May, we saw a new group make an appearance in these top results and slowly inch their way up the charts until our latest report from Google landed in our inbox announcing that we have had a change in the #1 spot.

So, congratulations (and, “Thank you!”) to PLANCK STARS for becoming the top Google search result that drives visitors to our site!!

And speaking of the Top Tier, we had a bunch of A-listers drop new songs and MVs this week, so let’s just segue right into that:

Homicidols Top Ten Songs Series: Epilogue Edition

So, Team was discussing what we should do for our next community participation project when we realized that we never did finish our post mortem on the last one. As a reminder, this past autumn, we asked Homicidols readers to send us a list of their ten favorite idol songs. Team played along too and submitted some of their own top tens. For a quick refresher, everyone’s entries can be browsed here:

Your Homicidols Weekender #326

I have to apologize for the lack of updates around here over the past week. Team is being pulled in about six different directions, and I’ve been caring for a sick cat which has me a bit stressed out. While that may not sound like the best excuse, she is a pretty awesome cat. Still, the idol world doesn’t stop spinning for any person or feline, so here’s some of what’s been going on:

Broken By The Scream is in the US right now! They performed last night and will be entertaining Katsucon in Washington DC all weekend.

We Interview Idol Producers: Spiritwalker’s Keisuke Hirayasu

Today we feature our second guest column from BobIsRandom who, when not hanging out on the Homicidols’ Discord server, is busy bugging idol producers for interviews that we are happy to publish.

By BobIsRandom

It’s an amazing time we live in. I can be a fan of creative people working locally thousands of miles away, but I can even interact with them, without knowing their language, and all without leaving the house. For instance, I’ve recently become a fan of REBEL REBEL. Being the fanboy that I am, and wishing there were more fans, I recently decided to write and submit an article about REBEL REBEL here on Homicidols. Whether that article succeeded in gaining REBEL REBEL any more fans, I have no idea, but it did hatch a crazy idea in my head. It just so happened that, even before the article was written, the producer of REBEL REBEL had followed me on Twitter (likely because the majority of my scant few tweets are about REBEL REBEL), and the crazy idea in my head was that perhaps this article could afford me an opportunity: maybe I could leverage this article and DM him asking for an interview?

Your Homicidols Weekender #324

It was a very eventful week in the global scene. Isiliel performed in France and  Germany and is now heading for Sweden to record her next album, Kasen of RILISREVERSE got her Twitter account suspended for some reason, and the South Korean live idol scene bore witness to a scandalous meltdown with more melodrama than a makjang.

This past week was also special in that we received PVs from both SU-METAL and Pour Liu, the original queens of alternative idol. I flipped a coin and Pour Lui and  PIGGS won the honor of kicking off the Weekender.
