Your Homicidols Weekender #513

Featured Image: Kaishin no Ichigeki.

It was a fairly quiet week in the world of chika idol with no truly major news. That may be because a small plague seems to be sweeping the scene this week.  Idols are calling in sick with the flu and fevers and wota are being asked to wear masks at buppan. For once, the Oshiloss Corner looks more like an hospital room than a morgue. Stay safe and mask up everybody!

As we learned during the pandemic, not even a plague can stop the music, so there’s still plenty of new releases to share below. But first:

GARUDA is spending the weekend in Italy at WONDERCON.

MAD JAMIE wraps her European tour today in Milan.

Our friends at AVO Magazine provide an in depth preview of the upcoming Ikigai vol. 4 featuring a visit by  14th Generation Toilet Hanako-san, Satanic Punish, and Ayame Oguma to the Netherlands and Germany.

NO FACE NO REaLiTY and Ruka Banana from Taiwan will join some of LA’s best idols at the next volume of Plum Valley Festival in early October. Tickets are on sale now:

Grab some popcorn: Isiliel stars in her very own short horror film.

Homicidols Hall of Famers AiNA THE END and ATARASHII GAKKO! team up to generate dangerous (and possibly illegal) levels of awesome.

Here’s LADYBABY with a PV featuring fewer rubber chickens than I was led to believe by the thumbnail.

Kaishin no Ichigeki releases it’s second new song in two weeks. This one is called, “Neoko to wakai seyo,” or, “make peace with cats,” which is fantastic life advice.

Meanwhile, Nanakusa Tenten of Super Macaroni Salad released a solo song about a pair of dogs. (Correction: “a pair of VERY IMPORTANT dogs.”)

The new Red-i single is not about pets, but is pure fire.

A lovely new MV from Amaoto to Applause, the unit who makes music that makes you happy on a rainy day.

Speaking of things to make you happy: here’s the ultra-kawaii  U3NEKO with an uplifting tune.

Let’s keep the good vibes rolling with Qppo, one of the most fun units in chika idol.

It is somehow morally imperative that you watch this lyric MV from Hellzapoppin’.

A new double-sided single from REBEL REBEL to close out summer 2026.

Koutei Camera Girl Fuenf, the fifth iteration of chika idol’s most venerable hip hop unit, released their second single

ACEQUAD deal us a live MV for their latest single.

Asls got some nice new red outfits and a folk rock groove for their latest MV.

BABYMETAL’s little sister unit, METALVERSE, bang out a Live MV.

WARNING: We are exactly one week away from the last live of airattic.

Oshiloss Corner

Nuie of YA’ABURNEE underwent surgery after complaining of stomach pain for a several days. She will perform seated for the remainder of the month while she recovers.

Two different idols from two different units are being treated for vocal chord nodules:

Wana Kurosame of JIEMEI has received treatment this will be limiting her performances to dance only per doctor’s guidance. Her fan interactions will also be limited to written notes.

Suzume of INUWASI will be taking a break to undergo treatment in October and plans to return in November.

While not related to vocal chord issues, Hibiki Neiro of Helzapoppin’ will also be performing silently and interacting only in writing while she recovers from acute laryngitis.

Oshifound Corner

Aoi Yozora (ex. nm2k) has joined odoro.

Meet PIAGRIM, the new unit from MAPLE Inc, the home of INUWASI.  Their concept is, “Girls who have walked their own paths meet, weave together their feelings, and spin a single story.” The five founding members are all veterans:

  • Kagura Minami (ex. MEWM)
  • Kanon Amane (ex. Monoclone, AZATOY, and HULLABALOO)
  • Shiina Neko (ex. IDOLEST, MIRAISAGASHI, and Yurutto Kakumeidan)
  • Amu Momose (ex. M3LOGIN, and Suteneko Cats)
  • Mayu Hinomiya (ex. M3LOGIN, and Gunjou no Sekai)

Their catchphrase is, “We weave our feelings together, and mark the present moment.” The debuted earlier this week.

Have a Nice Weekend!!
