Yesterday was the last day to get nominations in for Homicidols Best of 2025 consideration, but since we’re friends, I will leave the nomination form open until midnight just in case you haven’t gotten around to submitting your favorites yet.
That makes this installment of The Weekender is our first preview of the contenders for Best of 2026 and we already have several candidates for the Saddest Disbandment category as all our favorite WACK units are getting nuked. Thanks Watanabe! At least we got a lot of soulful dream pop releases this week to console us. That’s below, but first:
YURAPICO and Zessei no Imperial Doll are in Australia this weekend helping kagai idol, Wooly celebrate her birthday.

Before heading off Down Under, YURAPICO dropped a new MV for last year’s single, “Moshimo.”
Gekkan PAM celebrated their second anniversary of underrated excellence with the release of a double album and a fantastic MV.
You’ll Melt More! got crucified for their latest MV.
Konton Shoujo released a new 14-track album a few weeks from their tragically premature disbandment.
SITUASION presents the fifth in their member directed MV series for tracks off of their latest EP, MO8E. It is Ayu’s turn this week.
It is still hard to believe that little INUWASI has all grown up into a major label unit.
I love the latest one from the AVACLUB.
We can always count on owaranaide, yoru to deliver something special.
The title of the new single from Finally asks the question, “We’re totally the best, right?” Important Note: This is a trick question. Whenever an idol asks you, “Who is the best? / the cutest ? / your favorite?” the answer is always, “You are!”
You gotta love yosugala. They perform every song like it’s them versus the world.
WARNING: the following dance MV from demipogune is extraordinarily additive.
It’s a new single from the art idols at anew.
While WACK hurtles towards self-inflicted implosion, their old house band, SCRAMBLES, is still going strong backing units like Girls Be Bad.
Sticking with the “bad girls” theme, we next have BAD IVY with a punkabilly flavored numbered.
tonalia share a PV of the latest, sweet single, “Hana no Shougai” (life of a flower).
A new AIBECK digital single just dropped at midnight.
We get some ethereal dream pop and noise in the latest from Mani Mamiya.
Asls releases what may be the sunniest, happiest MV ever posted on this site.

Lulu Nekome will be graduating from CHEMICAL X and leaving show business on March 14th in order to give priority to treatment for a chronic illness.
Kiri Noble and Asterisk Mano both ghosted THE+BETH after last week’s one-man. Now down to one single member, THE+BETH = Ai Carbonara.
AKUMATICA, who have struggled to build a fan base despite dropping one of the best albums of 2024, will be disbanding on March 2nd.
Anon Komari is leaving YOUR ADVISORY BOARD due to poor health. The unit is now a trio and has announced auditions for new members.
Thanks to Suzu over on the Homicidols Discord server for bringing this humoress unit implosion to our attention:
Formed back in July, male idol unit Shinryakusha Riragumi was named after its two members, Rirari Tsukishima and Gumi Kajuu. After a serious breach of contract, both members are being dismissed. Management states that the unit will continue performing with 0 members.

DREAMY, the beyond excellent post-hardcore band project of Yumemi (ex. FaM and Candye♡Syrup) and Yossy (producer of CHEMICAL X), released their first EP.
