Your Homicidols Weekender #389

You may have noticed that, over the past month or so, the only content being cranked out around here is this weekly digest. I have to apologize for that but, unfortunately, idol blogging doesn’t pay any bills (and actually generates a few) and my DayJob® that I do for money has been really kicking my butt lately. I do have a few posts planned and I will get them out the door as soon as I find the spare time and energy.

I am still pledged to getting The Weekender out each Saturday since, at 389 consecutive weeks and counting, this commitment has lasted longer than any other relationship I’ve ever had. On to the good stuff!

MAD JAMIE is in Oslo, Norway for the start of her European tour.

Tickets to MIHO‘s US debut are on sale now.

Also available: VIP packs for Isiliel’s June tour dates.

If Tool and Limp Bizkit had a daughter, they would sound a lot like the new single from ASP. The B-side, Japanese Girl, is also definitely worth repeated plays.

The new PIGGS sounds like old PIGGS and there is nothing wrong with that. The song is called “RAFFLESIA,” which is a parasitic flower also know as the “stinking corpse lily.” They are the largest flowers in the world and smell like rotting flesh.

GARUDA continues her collaboration with GOLLIPOP RECORD where her alter ego performs as a member of MELON BATAKE A GO GO.

Speaking of MELON BATAKE A GO GO, they have release a new EP.

RAY celebrated their 5th anniversary with a new single and a huge one-man live.

Malcolm Mask McLaren are celebrating the 1st anniversary of their current system with a new single and MV.

KILLERMACHINE has released her second single as a solo idol.

The new NARLOW comes to you courtesy of SCRAMBLES.

LyricHolic Kagekidan give us a  very cinematic MV. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so hopefully this is just episode one.

The new single from THE ORCHESTRA TOKYO boasts one of my favorite album covers of the year (the song is pretty good too).

God save QUEENS.

I don’t believe we’ve talked about Osaka’s sustain before, which is a gross oversight. They’ve been around for a few years and fans of stripped-down idol pop punk should definitely give them a listen.

downerprism have release a mellow dream pop number as their 4th single.

A lot of us still have a special place in our hearts reserved for Task have Fun.

Our favorite hyper pop newbies, pinponpanpon, are selling t-shirts or guns or something.

This week’s “too classy for Homicidols” segment, features Kolokol.

The most isolated element: lonlium. This reboot of CHU’S HYPER debuted about a year ago but keep popping up on my radar just recently.

Gumi Nanase of Band Ja Naimon! MAXX NAKAYOSHI announced that she is married, pregnant, and taking a break from performing, but she’s will continue as a member of the unit.

Kanamaru (mom-idol and former member of 1009-thank you- alongside Yurapico), announced that she is pregnant with her second child and will be taking maternity leave at the end of June. She also mentions she received treatment after being tested positive for cervical cancer, and her dog died. She is having a rough year but plans to be back to performing in December.

LuciDreaM held their last live as a duo. The were recruiting for new members recently, so we are assuming they will be back with a new system.

Approval Addiction held their last live.

MEWM has launched their new system and announced two new members including Anon (ex. JILLASTED and Chou Denpa Busters).

Ucharu has rejoined Hate and Tears after leaving the group two-and-a-half years ago.

Love (ex. WAgg) has dropped the first release of her new project, THE TRAINTRAINS.

Fancy animal punk band Knuckle Chiwawa (band project of Boss Rei, ex. BURST GIRL and GUSO Drop) released a full album.

Have Good Weekend!
