Your Homicidols Weekender #335

I’m going a little bit nuts lately. I’ve been working too hard at Day Job® the past few months and haven’t attended any live music since January. I have a few opportunities next month, but I seem to be double-booked on everything. I will try to sort all of that out this weekend.

One of those opportunities is the US debut of CHICKEN BLOW THE IDOL which I finally tracked down some details on.  They will be appearing at LALALA Matsuri at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Sunday, May 14. Admission is free, but Chicke-Blow will be running a booth selling goods and cheki, plus there are 12 ramen booths so I would suggest bringing a fair amount of cash.

Now that I’m caught up on that, what else has been going on?

Isiliel released a new song and announced that her new album will be available via streaming next Friday.

Also, Isiliel has signed to Setsuzoku for overseas distribution. You can pre-order a physical copy of her album now.

CROSSNOESIS dropped an MV to support the new min-album that’s being released next week.

The consensus on the Homicidols Discord server is that  BABYMETAL’s “METALIZM” is what would happen if MIGMA SHELTER did a cover of “Shanti Shanti Shanti”.

XTEEN participated in this punk compilation album contributing a cover of The Stooges, “I Wanna be your Dog” with SAKI (NEMOPHILA, Mary’s Blood) on guitar.

We are all in on DOPPERIN.

-odoro- has new EP out.

Erisu teamed up with some friends from StryGo for their latest MV.

The Candace is like a 90s flashback, but I’m pretty sure that decade pre-dates all of the members.

I always have to say their name slowly: Symdolick.

ZEPANEWT dropped two singles this week. The one below is called “Drunk Rapper” (as D4rkWzd points out over on the Homicidols Discord server, the song was originally released by Gensou Bad End with whom ZEPANEWT share a producer). The other one roughly translates as “Love Sugar Content” and, at least superficially, seems to be about how much they love sugar.

HUSH HUSH for those of you who like the punk idol.

This is NEW POLARIS, not be confused with the new POLARIS☆.  They are a rookie unit with another MV that’s just as good. Thanks to BobIsRandom on the Homicidols Discord server for the discovery .

Here’s kinopo. interrupting some couple’s quiet day on the lake.

Finger Runs have released their first single with one of the best album covers of the year.

MIC RAW RUGA dropped the “laboratory” but they never stopped experimenting.

Now chill with some Title Mitei.

Let’s hang out in chills-ville for just a short while longer with Yureru Landscape.

One of the biggest surprises of the year for me is Pure White Canvas and their sudden interest in pop punk.

KINGSARI is live.

Some funky live yumegiwa last girl

Continuing the live theme, here’s some Hachimitsu BLACK.

AKIARIM just celebrated their third birthday.

With a name like DEMON FACTOR, you would think we would have been paying closer attention. Luckily, we have folks like Carrythezero over on the Homicidols Discord server to bring them to our attention.
