Judging by the crowd in Oshiloss Corner, it was rough this week, and the next few days probably aren’t going to be any easier. This week is guaranteed to be an emotional roller coaster for Zenkimi fans as the yami kawaii pioneers play the Budokan on Wednesday just before retreating into a status of indefinite hiatus. Be extra kind and patient with your friends who dig Codomomental. 

In more uplifting news, SARI (our once and future shironuri queen of all that is dark and wonderful) has raised more than half of her crowdfunding campaign goal to finance her European tour and an extended overseas stay. Be sure to contribute! 

The campaign is through Camp Fire, which asks for a Japanese address, but there are a couple solutions. A proxy address (like Tenso) will work or if you have one, or check the above Twitter thread for Sari’s advice on using a dummy address.

As mentioned above, we are in the final days of  Zenbu Kimi no Sei da. , but they are determined to go out in style.

When not performing X-rated pranks or trying to go viral on TikTok, PLANCKSTARS can crank out some really solid pop punk.

BABYMETAL took part in THE FIRST TAKE and gave us a startling reminder that the engine powering this whole unstoppable machine is the immaculate voice of SU-METAL.

Melancholic Cinderella Story have one of the best names in chika idol. Their material is pretty great too. 

While we’re hanging out on the darker side of the genre,  I’d like to bring your attention to LumiLulla (short for “luminescent lullaby”). They have been around mixing dark wave, power and groove metal for a couple of years, but we somehow just stumbled on them.

One of my favorite names from the class of 2022, On the treat Super Season are having a great year two.

There’s a new album from “empowerment idol” unit GALS.

We spend a lot of time on the darker side of idol, so here’s an angelic MV from PRSMIN for a change.

Over on the Homicidols’ Discord server, Fredo introduced us to ORDERMAID. who just debuted last month.

Another new unit: this is DEMO and there is a LOT to unpack here. they already have their overseas debut lined up, playing Anime Messe Babelsberg in Brandenburg, Germany this coming July. Thank you (?) to NaraMoore for bringing this one to our attention over on the server.

I don’t know much about TELLMIT yet except that it stands for “TELL Me Idol Trap”, and I like this song.

Qumari Depart will play the Budokan on March 30th and will not be disbanding afterwards, so it is possible. Someone tell Zenkimi!

Ui Okuyama graduated from Shihatsu-Machi Underground.

LiLiHoLi is going on hiatus.

XII will be taking a one month break from X!DEN† for personal reasons.

The current system of MAD JAMIE has fxxked off.

ONE KILL only lived for one year. They will hold their final live on their 1st anniversary.

Tim Vincent of Zsasz will be taking some time off.

  Vivi Hinatsuki and Nana Nanawo are graduating from misola de edison.
