I’ve really enjoyed the week. With GARUDA and 2& spending last weekend in the UK, NECRONOMIDOL running all over Europe and ATARASHII GAKKO! touring California, my twitter feed has been full of my Western friends attending idol lives in their home countries and showing off their cheki. Sure, I’ve been plenty jealous, but it’s also been great to see and almost felt like old times. Besides, I’ll get my chance in a little over a month when MELON BATAKE A GO GO arrive in my home state for Saboten Con.  I hope to see you there! Until then, I’ll just live vicariously through my Twitter feed and curate items for the Weekender, like:

ASP found a sparkly way to burst back onto our radar.

KAQRIYOTERROR dropped one of your nominees for Album of the Year.

On the more stately side of things, CYNHN took on  a fifth member and are still elevating idol rock to a classier place than we probably deserve.

THE DEVIL’S KILLING MERRY-GO-ROUND have spun out their first EP.

INUWASI is releasing a single per month for three months.  We’ve reached month two.

GANGDEMIC has been active a little while but just got around to releasing their debut MV.

GANG PARADE has dropped a 66 track album library of re-recorded songs.

And also announced a new single during an all night karaoke livestream!

AKIARIM just released their first full album and this accompanying MV.

Satanic Punish have a new single out and may just be my favorite of their songs. It’s currently just on Sound Cloud but, hopefully, will migrate to other services soon.

Brought to our attention by Ziensa over on the Homicidols Discord Server, meet Quubi from Osaka. They turn one year old in September and I don’t know much more about them except that I like this.

Another new unit from Ziensa: Mirror World_Purotizumu, described as “Idols who live together with pain”. You have my attention.

  1. I am so happy to see your inclusion and comments about the new KAQRIYOTERROR album. It is indeed an album of the year and kicks serious butt. I love it so much but was beginning to think am i the only person in the world that thinks so, until i saw your post. Thanks 🙂
