Your Homicidols Weekender #256

IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!!   For the first time in what feels like a millennium an idol unit has landed on Western shores and performed an actual live! NECRONOMIDOL played Guildford last night, are hitting London tonight before two more UK shows and then they’re off to Sweden and Germany. Don’t mind me as I live vicariously through you, my European friends. I am truly envious.

For those of us too far (or not allowed) to travel to a NECROMA show, we always have the Internet. Let’s see what it has for us:

SHINGEKI. So good.

BABYMETAL has been “sealed away” which, depending on the orientation of your tinfoil hat, definitely means that they are on hiatus or broke up or will be releasing a new album in January. #TheThirdCometIsYui

Speaking of “Living Legends”, Boss Rei, YuraSmile, 2&Saki and Anna (aka the original 4-member lineup of Guso Drop) had a meet up.

If you missed Music Station’s 35th anniversary show, Aina the End was invited by Sheena Ringo to join Shiori Sekine (Base Ball Bear),  Hona Ikoka (Gesu no Kiwami Otome), and Yu (GO!GO!7188) to form a band called Elopers

Devil ANTHEM. dropped a new MV to promote the imminent release of their new album.

Happy Birthday to “The Cute One”, Ayuni D. Love, Ling Ling.

Kunogi (former Chouzetsu Venom-chan, NECRONOMIDOL and Gokigen Teikoku) and MiRichan (former Candye♡Syrup,  PUCCHIMO and BeDOLL) have both joined new idol unit, POMÜM.

HO6LA gave us another lyric video this week. This is probably my favorite so far.

We have a new contender for 2021 Best/Worst New Unit Name. Meet TAPESTOK’s latest idol rap group, SPECIAL CHEESE MENU.

If cheese isn’t your thing, how about a half hour of CROSSNOESIS.

I didn’t expect the live version of “Pineapple Kryptonite” to be this dark and violent.

Ladies and gentlemen. I give you. Aina the End

Dry your fangs. Chouzetsu Venom-chan has disbanded.

Suzu Kogarashi of hikikomori unit Hikicomoteikoku announced her retirement.

The lineup for the final Gyuno Fes at USEN STUDIO COAST has been announced. STUDIO COAST will be closing it’s doors in January,

Idol In Focus

This weekend we’d like to direct your surveillance to a unit that bears watching: Schrödinger no Inu (Schrödinger’sDog). The unit debuted just under a year ago as part of the Cinderella’s Dog Project which also includes Cinderella Sengen! (Cinderella Declaration!) and the recently revealed Lateral Arc.

So far, they have only released lyric videos like this one from earlier this week.

There are a couple of reasons I would recommend keeping on eye on the fledgling unit. One of the more interesting aspects of the group is that their primary composer is former Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas guitarist Sxun. While the above tune doesn’t exactly stomp, some of their other tracks contain that dub step + electronicore signature that have made FALILV such a unique and dynamic element of the international metal scene.

The other reason to keep an eye on them is that their sister unit, Cinderella Sengen! was just signed to PONY CANYON after less than a year of existence. Whoever the creative mind(s) behind the whole Cinderella’s Dog Project turn out to be, they definitely got connections, know what they’re up to and how to get things done.

Have a Good Weekend!!
