Well look who’s getting a serious restart! Party Rockets GT sister group Tokyo Rockets, who once upon a time felt like they’d be part of the Next Wave of Heavy Idols(TM) but then kind of went kersplat, and the last meaningful blip from them was the old leader’s graduation.
Well, amigos, it’s looking like a new day is dawning in Tokyo Rockets ville.
I’m pretty sure that the last time I had occasion to post anything related to Tokyo Rockets was this old post. Kinda thought they might be going somewhere! But they’ve been fairly quiet since releasing their debut single a year and a half ago, just performing when and where appropriate.
And then, poof, just the other day, they lost their leader, Yano Yuuki:
Tokyo Rockets (Twitter) are the sister group of our much-beloved Party Rockets GT, except that they’re rather quiet and don’t have a whole lot going on lately on their official YouTube channel, so I kind of worry that maybe more of ^THAT^ won’t be coming our way. Which, shame, because that’s a pretty hot song.
Though most of the Anglophone world is already deeply into Sunday, it’s still mid-morning here. NFL football is done for a little while, baseball is literally just starting Spring Training, basketball and hockey are both in that weird mid-season malaise before the real action starts. And heaven friggin’ forbid that you actually do anything productive with your time — it’s Sunday! The God of Abraham flat-out said “don’t work on Sunday, bro”* and gave us the Daytona 500 to mostly ignore.
To get you ready for browsing through the Ultimate Homicidol Playlist (and notice the BiSH stuff that needs to be replaced!), why not take some time to check out this performance by Tokyo Rockets?
This sister group of Party Rockets GT has been around for a little while, but their output pales compared to their big sisters (who they may now out-age, even, I dunno). I’d like for them to do more, as they’re on the metal-ish end of kawaiicore and there isn’t enough there, period (to which Cutie Corpse replies …).
