The Homicidols community has been busy for the past couple of months. We first asked our readers to tell us their five favorite alt, indie and/or underground idol MV’s. We then compiled those entries into a massive list of 127 music videos and again asked our readers to rate each and every one on a scientific and rigorously valid Likert scale.
The results have now been compiled into this incontrovertible and statistically valid list of the 50 GREATEST IDOL MVs of ALL TIME (per the collective opinion of the Homicidols community).
We will present ten each week for the next (*counts on fingers*) five weeks with commentary from Team Homicidols and our readers on why they nominated the MV for consideration.
I know we have been more of a blog (our true self, really!) and less of a news site in 2022. It was a weird year and timeliness regarding idol news just couldn’t be a priority, unfortunately.
However, it is with a heavy heart that I figure I should use the event mentioned in the title as sort of wrap-up of the notable things that have happened in the last few months with Codomomental. Grab your tissues and let’s get to it.
If you’re cool and have amazing taste, you might have caught wind that our new best friend Kyunchi♡ dropped a track with Nonamera today. If you’re a little behind, Kyunchi♡ is Thee genderless pop icon from cyberspace, smashing together global pop culture and spitting out high glamour songs for high stakes times.
Previously, we featured their track “Mecha Angel Genesis♡” in our article about the influence of jpop on hyperpop – idol fans are no stranger to the crossover of genres, but this was more than a crossover, an American artist so proudly working with Syva from Codomomental was a shock! And why stop when you have something good? “WORLDWIDE☆GIRL feat. Nonamera” served as a great opportunity to sit down with Kyunchi♡ in the digital realm and really talk about the method to the 200BPM madness.
New members! Old members! New sound! The girls are BACK and stronger than ever. As a group, KAQRIYOTERROR have never been afraid to push the boundaries of taste or sensibility, and “Ensemble Berserk” is the latest chapter of their erotic grotesque nonsense storybook.
“That girl thinks she’s the queen of the neighborhood
I got news for you, SHE IS”
Have you seen these lyrics from Bikini Kill’s Rebel girl? Clearly, Kathleen Hanna was prescient and wrote this song before the girl that would become Nonamera was even a concept in either of her parents’ mind. I’m kidding, of course, please don’t send me hate mail. This apparte and Bikini Kill have little to do with the musicality of Nonamera’s first solo release, and yet they are absolutely applicable to the blonde pixie.
Since said mini-album was just released, why don’t you hop in to read what we think of it?
We have reached the height of summer, that magical season when school’s out, parties are at the pool, blankets are on the beach and indelible memories are being made, each one set to a signature soundtrack destined to trigger nostalgic memories well into our sunset years (unless you’re reading this in Australia right now in which case, at least the snakes are hibernating ?). This seemed like the perfect time to ask Team Homicidols to put down the margaritas and fireworks for a second and share those songs that they’ve got on repeat in their summertime playlists.
Here are the songs that will forever come to define the dog days of 2022:
KAQRIYOTERROR has announced a new four-member lineup that includes an unfamiliar face along with someone you just may recognize.
Yes, that’s Nonamera , a founding member of the then-so-named Kaqriyo Terror Architect who previously withdrew from the group in January of 2019. We also know Nonamera as a burgeoning soloist, member of the currently suspended FRUN FRIN FRIENDS and “our Queen“. Continue reading
Codomomental are a talent powerhouse, you could call any handful of members their “golden child” and you’d get no disagreements even from people with differing tastes. One of those members is Nonamera who, after a short hiatus from the company, is back to reclaim her throne.
Building over from the weekend, the hottest concern in alt-idol these last few days has been the location, state and status of Kaqriyo Terror Architect’s Nonamera. In the lead up to KTA’s in-store appearances to promote their latest single, “The Forbidden Masturbating“, Codomomental let it be known over the weekend that they had not been able to contact Nona since noon last Tuesday.
After a few days of reasoned, rational and well-informed reactions to this news and no rampant speculation at all, it was announced last night that contact with Nonamera had been re-established and that she had decided to withdraw from the group.
Hey Kerrie! Papermaiden says you can have your curse back.
