This Elfloat Song Is Really Nice

Zounds, this week. It’s Friday, that’s good, I get to go home soon and take up a tally of all of the various things that need tallying and reach out to all of the people who need reaching out to. Of course, that’s exactly what I’m dreading at this point, that and the hangover that I managed to not wake up with but that is definitely just waiting for a chance to ruin the day.

You know what’s going to be a nice palliative? This Elfloat song, which is exactly what the title says it is. For once, I’d have some time to comment, but I just don’t have the gumption. So enjoy!

Yeah, this is usually where I admonish Western idol fans for not giving more love to the Blue Forest sister units.

This Is Surprisingly Mild from Elfloat, Still Nice

Well, “better late than never” is going to be a theme here, as there was no way I was going to get to much of what trickled out of idol in the pre-Christmas week, not with the Best Of and also Necroma to deal with. And this is a case of better!

Elfloat, I believe still the jewel in Blue Forest’s crown, has had a hell of a year of rise … in Japan. They and their sister groups remain in some weird Western wota purgatory from whence they shan’t escape unless … I don’t know, actually. They’re good and worth your time! Though this is probably not the track to change your mind!

Enjoy Idol Helloween Like You Know You Want To

In the case of Halloween, I always enjoy dressing up Maniac Mansion as a den of terror and pain, and myself as a murderer or demonic entity, purely to scare the ever-loving bejeezus out of the neighborhood children. It’s great!

But yeah, Day Job demands that I not get to enjoy that this year, so instead I turn to my more regular hobby — idols. And, you know who delivered? Friggin’ Blue Forest — Elfloat, Diamondollfy and Real Light, to be precise — with a live that I was totally stoked about even just as it was announced, let alone thinking that I’d ever get to see it. This Elfloat Live Looks Amazing

I always initially feel like I spend too much energy on Elfloat (and really all parts of the Blue Forest family), on account of their being very, very idol by default, but then I spend a few minutes with them and realize that “heavy idols” can mean different things, and that “I like loud and hard music” and “I like idol music” can have interesting intersections sometimes. I do it every time it comes up, actually.

So, to whit, this pretty sweet live video:

And Today It’s Elfloat’s Turn

Yesterday, we took a peek at Diamondollfy; today, it’s their sister group, Elfloat, and in this case originating via:

Shall we dance?

I remember my very first thought about Elfloat (Twitter) being like DEEP GIRL doing PassCode covers, which … no, I don’t think I’d try to stand by that again. But they’re a lot like their sisters, albeit maybe even a little more fantasy-y. Continue reading
