DAIDAIDAI Has the Perfect Concept and the Goods for their New Album

I know we Weekendered it a while back, but it’s entirely possible that people — silly, fallible lumps of loosely organized flesh that they are — either have forgotten or are somehow not at all aware of the fact that DAIDAIDAI, one of the most unique and exciting acts in this entire scene, has an album coming out in basically no time at all now. I’ve been excited about since the day I heard about it! Imagine being aware of what this group brings and not being excited.

And so there was the move by producer-san, it seems, for DEMON TAPES decided to drop the first proper promo for the album on Valentine’s Day, and I’d have missed it completely if not for a bit of research last week. The thinking is sound, right, like of course a Sunday in the middle of winter when people are much more worried about their SOs is the best time to slide out new music that will gin up interest in your album. I am in absolutely no way being sarcastic! But anyway, this is awesome and exciting: Continue reading

Tsurezure Makes Us All Feel Something Different with “ssixth”

Yukueshirezutsurezure will be dropping their uncharacteristically upbeat single, “ssixth”, this coming Wednesday, July 3rd. To prepare us for this imminent release, these barefoot angels of yami kawaii blessed us with a chilling MV that inspired dueling interpretations around the Homicidols press room.

In it, Mei Yui Mei and the adorable Kotetsu portray gleeful bullies documenting their torment of a passive Takara. Not Secured, Loose Ends have announced that “ssixth”, the group’s sixth single,  will be released on July 3rd and, for some reason, the world suddenly feels like a better place.

I was going to say something else, perhaps about the album art, but thoughts are strangely difficult to put together… Continue reading

Get Yourself a Listen to DAIDAIDAI’s Demo

Ah, this is good. So DAIDAIDAI (die die die!) have been doing regular promotional appearances with flyers on which is printed a QR code to download their two demo tracks. Unless you happen to show up where they are, no music for you!

But their very cool manager just added the songs to Bandcamp, and you can get a free listen (no download, though) for about 23 more hours:

Watch Out! Sola Sound Has Appeared

Yep, more new idols! Or, in this case, not so much new as new to us.

Meet Sola Sound (Twitter | Facebook!). Their online lifespan goes all the way back to March, and it looks like they debuted in May. Three members, doing kind of a PassCode Lite sound, with a little of the edgy kawaii presentation, and a website that looks a lot like NEVE SLIDE DOWN’s … holy shit, has We-Bstudio colonized?(no) Continue reading
