Idol Overseas Summer Invasion 2024

Summer is almost upon us and a bunch of our favorite idols are undertaking overseas expeditions to come and see us!! Or, perhaps, they just want to escape the heat and humidity of Japan. Either way, it means that your chances of being able to see an idol live without leaving your home country are at a record high.

While major hitters ATARASHII GAKKO! and BABYMETAL are tearing through Europe and Southeast Asia all summer long, a bunch of our indie and underground  idol favorites are venturing overseas in the next few months as well, such as:

Look What Oshi Got Us for Christmas!!

Since we are all well past the days when Santa pays a visit, and some of us have even reached the stage where receiving a nice pair of wool socks is considered a decent Yuletide haul, it is understandable for expectations regarding Christmas gifts to be markedly low.

Luckily, our idol oshi never forget about us and have delivered in a big way this Christmas. Let’s see all of the presents they left under the tree!!

We See Idols: WACK in the UK – Show Report

It has been just over a week since WACK in the UK and, yes, I’m just now getting around to hitting the “Post” button on this piece. There are a couple of reasons for that. One is DayJob® which has been crazy busy and eaten up all my time since I got back to the US, primarily because I took almost a full week off to go to the aforementioned WACK in the UK. But DayJob® pays me money that allows me do things like travel to other countries and see idols, so I must give it my attention. The other reason is that what started off as a straight-up show report kept growing and morphing into what is really at least two if not three different articles. At Papermaiden’s suggestion, I will now focus on the show itself and get this thing published before WACK in the UK 2: Electric Boogaloo has come and gone.

50 Greatest Alt-Idol MVs of All Time: #41 – 50

The Homicidols community has been busy for the past couple of months. We first asked our readers to tell us their five favorite alt, indie and/or underground idol MV’s. We then compiled those entries into a massive list of 127 music videos and again asked our readers to rate each and every one on a scientific and rigorously valid Likert scale.

The results have now been compiled into this incontrovertible and statistically valid list of the 50 GREATEST IDOL MVs of ALL TIME (per the collective opinion of the Homicidols community).

We will present ten each week for the next (*counts on fingers*) five weeks with commentary from Team Homicidols and our readers on why they nominated the MV for consideration.

Let’s go!!

Your Homicidols Weekender #302

While Daemon is living his best life seeing MELON BATAKE A GO GO, I’m in charge of the weekender!

We published a trilogy of articles having Nonamera as a pivot: one about her solo album, one on KAQRIYO TERROR’s newest release and finally, a piece of Kyunchi’s collaboration with her. That’s a whole lot of content for a week!

But what else happened in the idol world?

CHOO-CHOO! All Abord The Wack Train!

When Kerrie spread word of the WACK train, I had to say, I was intrigued.

Did WACK make their own version of Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari?

The Contenders: Team Homicidols Best of 2022 (So Far)

We lost so many veteran and A-list talents last year that there were thoughts that 2022 would have a dearth of compelling new chika idol releases. To our surprise, the first several months of this new year have instead seen veteran idols producing some of their best ever work while new units have been dropping captivating releases from the word, “Go!” We usually wait until much later in the year to start tossing around contenders for “Best of the Year” nods, but Team Homicidols is finding ourselves so overwhelmed by the volume, diversity and quality of new music that we felt it was important to make some mid-year citations for posterity.

KASHiWACK Cataclysm

If you haven’t been keeping up with the news lately, this might come as a major shock: AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki (also known as Yukirin) joined every single WACK group at once! How do some people find the time, honestly.

ASP Comes Through Your Front Door

We’re a highbrow publication, so the headline about the group called ANAL SEX PENiS was kept tasteful once again. So without further ado let’s get right into talking about those wild WACK girls who love to prove they’re anything but pusillanimous – this is “the MAN CALLiNG,” so you’d better answer!
