So Is BUNNY KISS Imploding or Something?

Warning: This post contains higher levels of better-informed speculation than almost anything ever. But it’s a weird story! And still with lots of unknowns! But it’s worth getting some info.

First things first: Remember BUNNY KISS? That was fun. We should do more ska.

So Patrick of Idolmetal group fame reached out the other day with some interesting info — it seems like Carua, one half of BUNNY KISS, tweeted out an I Quit statement on Friday.

If you can Japanese and can fill in some of the blanks, please do!

The crux of the matter is that she alleges abuse by management, and she’s not going to take it anymore. For what it’s worth, she hasn’t tweeted since; also for what it’s worth, she also tweeted out a bunch of idol-obligatory photos and performance updates on the same day; even more for what it’s worth, Carua is normally pretty Twitter-active.

On Saturday, BUNNY KISS’s live went on as planned, with Carua’s performance partner, Kanna, rolling solo:

Reminds me of when this happened

But that’s not all that’s happening!

The show went on, at least. But Kanna has been busy in a different sort of way — pulling double duty by filling in with fellow skadoll outfit Tick-tik:

It’s only supposed to be a temporary thing, as Tick-tik’s red member has been on hiatus for a while, but interesting timing, no?

This is normally what they sound like:

By the way, consider this your introduction to Tick-tik (Twitter); they do upbeat ska stuff, they hang out with C-Style and BUNNY KISS, and they might be Kanna’s future home.

What’s really up in the air is exactly what Carua’s allegations are referring to; if you remember, they’re on/moving to Mad Magazine Records, of Fruitpochette and nanoRider fame. I have absolutely no idea if the abuse happened under their watch, under a former manager’s, etc., and what that all might mean for BUNNY KISS as a Mad Magazine talent, let alone what it might mean for their continued existence.

But at least we did more ska!

  1. She writes that she quit mainly because of stress caused by “power harassment” and related unpleasantness in her working circumstances, as well as some other trouble (with the police) she got her self into (she was caught driving without a valid license). It’s a bit of a long-winded letter, and it certainly seems like she needs time to work some things out. Let’s hope she’ll be able to.
