Read Ringo Kusakabe’s Farewell Letter to Haloperi Doll UPDATED Plus Cream ‘n’ Chrome

Actually, like 99 percent of you won’t, because you can’t, because it’s in Japanese! AHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, right. Can somebody who can read Japanese help us out?

I’m sure it’s nice.

UPDATE: Phillter provides translation via comment! [I did minor touching on names–it’s an unvarnished Phillter!]

An’z,
You are older than me, and I depended on your frankness. After becoming P[who/what is P?] I thought it was really intense, but P[?] was really reliable. I thought that you gathering everyone together and organizing them and stuff was a difficult thing to do. I frantically thought “I have to do something too!” but then I thought “I’m not able to do anything for you…” (seriously reflecting on that, I thought it was best to not say much). You always ALWAYs thought of everyone and worked hard for them and it was really awesome of you. You said “Your[Ringo’s] graduation concert will be great!”,
and you did your best to make that happen for me, so thank you very much. I depended on your for self-confidence and I was nervous, but yesterday was the best, thanks.
Let’s keep being friends, and keep doing your best!

Tsubaki,
My #1 busy-body Tsubaki (haha) is always being loud, suddenly showing up with guys, getting a hold of yourself, being stupid to a surprising degree (haha), and at the drug store and stuff having the best conversations…I think this is your core, you know. I want you to be able to read the green tea(haha) [must be some inside joke]. Because of you Haloperi was always “the loud idols in the drug store”, weren’t we? (quiet voice). Even though you is the youngest, you always used your head, and the reality of it is that you were always tired and doing your best. You told people stuff like “Don’t hold back” and “When stuff sucks, you can say it sucks!”. You have lots of good qualities, and because you’re young you can do so much from now on, can’t you? You’ll keep getting better so don’t quit, and keep facing the day and doing your best.
Love you girl!

Cellen,
Docile/polite, quiet, little Cellen…I am just too cute, I can’t help it! Cellen, you never really show your emotions so insensitive me often thought “What is she thinking about…hey, let’s prank her!”. Even though I was poking my nose into your business, you always did the opposite. I’m really sorry for all that (The main reason for apologizing is because I’m fearful). We were both students, and also had the same worries, so we had quite the affinity to each other didn’t we? Don’t think about what you couldn’t do or won’t be able to do, and think of the things you want to do and try for them. To stand together, you have to be resolute, but because you are Cellen you can totally do it! I think bad people will want to trick my cute Cellen, but don’t stifle/conceal yourself, try to get around (haha). Give P[?] some Tsubaki-esque sexual harrassment for me will ya!

Kasuya-San,
I was the hot-headed member. You used rational arguments, but I wanted to rebel (mumblemumble) sorry for burning your attempts to take care of me…Be that as it may, you worked really hard behind the scenes, and for that thank you so much. You were told grueling things and kind things, and were always careful [with responses?], and since being in Haloperi I feel I’ve matured. I will always remember what you told me [lit. “etch them into my chest”], and keep trying hard. Thank you for your hard work.

Thanks, Phillter!

Haloperi Doll 2.0 is now down to three (but holding auditions), and have updated their Twitter imagery and look accordingly.

UPDATE: Phillter also points out that Cream n’ Chrome were the support act, and one of the members blogged about it. I am bearish on Cream n’ Chrome so far, but you might like them!

    • Of course 🙂 Happy to help. Although, please excuse some of my English in the second letter…Apparently it’s harder to switch languages mid-stream-of-consciousness than I thought it would be haha (^^ゞ

      • I’m impressed that you did it so cleanly and so fast. I have a couple of non-Japanese languages good enough to survive in them, and at least one that I can read a newspaper in, but I definitely can’t do what you just did.

  1. Yeah, thank you Phillter! That was an interesting insight.

About Cream n’ Chrome. I like that steampunk theme and there is definitely potential. The music, vocals and dancing just lack some energy so far. I keep an eye on them tho…

    • Yeah, those are my thoughts too. I like the trancey-metal thing that “Negai” has going on, but the dancing in those videos is not as clean as it could be, to be PC about it. I’ve never seen live footage of them, so who knows if they were tired/nervous for the videos and their live shows are better. But, it is certainly a group with potential IMO, so I keep a sharp eye on them as well.

      • Just went back and watched the first Fruitpochette video for 暴虐-PARASITE- and realized that the difference between that and 偉人-CleverDick- or 蒼天-Paradox- is ENORMOUS in terms of musical and performance skill. Those videos were 1.5 years apart, but FP grew into something amazing during that time. I feel like I keep defending Cream ‘n’ Chrome when no one is really attacking them haha, but the Frupoche example is a great one for why you want to keep your eye on bands for a while, they usually get better with time and exposure.
