Everything about this gets all kinds of great.
I’ve remarked about the trend toward rapping idols lately, but just as emerging has been this cool neo-X trend, taking traditional stuff and regular J-pop stuff and something heavy and/or electronic and just going for it. DEVIL NO ID, for instance. (It’s less of a full-on trend, okay?) But I wish it all sounded like this, or took cues from its professionalism.
I was going to add something about a big first year (seriously, they only debuted about six months ago) and clear development and lament that nobody (nobody) had bothered to give Himegami CRISIS a serious whiff for an annual award, and then I saw that they still haven’t cleared 350 Twitter followers and, you know, it may be that this is a group with more initial financial support than I realized.
So … yeah, there’s no win here, I don’t think, but I like what they’re doing so much that I want to have a new category added to the awards show. Something like, Maniac’s Short-time Post-debut Pretty Good!er Than Others of the Year.
They’re ninjas from the future. Plenty of time for them to will have won awards in the past.
This is a great point!
