The potential for commentary on a song with that title being involved with idols notwithstanding
None of them quite has the solo voice to match up with the original, but they did pretty well in ensemble, and I’m particularly impressed with Riko. I’d love to know if that cover was management’s idea (and therefore possible as a B-side) or if notorious rock connoisseur Mashilo (or any member, honestly) was like “I please want to do this song.”

In discussing this performance on Twitter, it came to light that perhaps Paramore’s breakout hit wasn’t well-known outside of North America, so I’ll just add that Hayley Williams is sort of like her generation’s Joan Jett, only a better singer and probably musician and with way more across-the-board mainstream success. This song was a big deal not quite 10 years ago, and while her band has pretty much completely turned over, Hayley herself is a pretty serious star.
From what I’ve heard about DeepGirl is that they perform quite a lot of covers, and have been doing this song for quite a while now – at least since January, I don’t know if they were doing it last year as well.
Interesting. Covers are much cheaper than original songs for their bad management to have the members perform.
I do not like Deep Girl’s management.
agreed, they have so much potential yet it seems like they have no real backing, they put out two strong singles with decent MV’S with little other content then talking and covers to fill the gaps =/ from my recent clips I’ve seen of them there live performances look much better and the girls seem much more comfortable with the whole live aspect. just really want them to release something new and generate themselves a little more hype and get the group focused on who’s doing what in the songs, Riko clearly has the strongest singing voice with probably non just after that(thoe live it seems like she doesn’t sing much for some reason =/), maybe get riko up front abit more and let mashilo do the cutesy bits and mc’ing that she excels at and let the other two do harmonies and what not on the choruses, little bit more focus on the vocal compositions would make them sound alot better in my opinion.
Non’s actually pretty good with the right song, she sounds sick with jazz like here http://nana-music.com/sounds/009d900e/?s=tw
Ironically, she hasn’t really got the power to do hard rock well. Neither does Riko really, but she’s closer.
Holy shitballs, Non’s amazing! I had no idea. This gives me a cool idea, too.
Well, as far as I’m aware, DEEPGIRL were formed from on/for a Fuji TV show, and are basically a promotional unit for the Showroom streaming website.
