Since their very first release more than six years ago, Minna no Kodomochan have been a perennial favorite of the Homicidols community. Despite the many challenges they have faced over the years, Kodomochan have consistently released some of the most innovative music, and most talked about MVs, of almost any other unit that we cover.
Case in point is their latest digital single, “Shikimi” that they dropped just last week:
Now, Minna no Kodomochan are facing a crossroads.
On August 4th, Minna no Kodomochan will hold a one-man live entitled, “To the Future” at the Shinjuku Loft (capacity: 350). If they do not sell out the show, they will disband.

In the run up to August 4th, Kodomochan launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance a full performance video to immortalize this decisive live. Unfortunately for Western supporters, the campaign would not accept contributions from overseas.
Until now:
Kodomochan recently hit their original crowdfunding target, which opened up the functionality on the crowdfunding site for the campaign to accept contributions from Pay Pal while they pursue their stretch goal. That goal includes the re-arrangement and re-release of portions of Kodomocahan’s previous catalog with re-recorded vocals by Cinnamon. The songs will be released for three consecutive months this fall. If the crowdfunding stretch goal is reached, the release will happen whether Kodomochan disbands or not.
Overseas supporters are now able to participate in the crowdfunding campaign, but you must act fast: contributions from Pay Pal transactions will only be accepted through Wednesday, July 26 (Japan Time). You can participate here: Minna no Kodomochan Crowdfunding Campaign Site.
Minnano Kodomochan is raising fund by crowdfunding.
Thanks to you all, we have reached the first goal to shoot the solo gig at Loft, Shinjuku, on August 4! We appreciate your generous supports!!!
We keep the fundraising for the extended goal to record some of our songs.
From now…— みんなのこどもちゃん (@kodomocafeid) July 22, 2023
If you happen to be in Japan in early August, the best way you can support the future of Kodomochan is to snag a ticket to their one-man live on the 4th and help ensure that it’s a sell-out.
With your support, we can continue to bring you coverage of Minna no Kodomochan for years to come.
Noted and actioned. I’m still mourning the loss of LiLii Kaona, and sorrowful over the imminent dissolution of DaiDaiDai. We can’t lose Minna no Kodomochan too!
