Become Acquainted with the Raw Chaotic Power of NEMLESSS

I sometimes envy the new idol explorer. New things are exciting, and everything’s new for the new person! One of my most enduring memories was in, several years ago now, finally tracking down this PSYBOU KANOJO that I’d seen referenced here and there and having my mind blown straight out the back of my skull. For a couple of months, I finally had the thing that I liked (then, which is amazing) more than Babymetal, more than anything else. If only there were more of her stuff online!

See, that was before I realized that chika idol can simultaneously be the most enjoyable and also stupidest thing in existence. And not that long after I told anybody who would listen about this bonkers project with enough beats to slay a dragon, Utane Yuki (the IRL person) announced that she was done with this thing. But for a well-extended farewell and then this, PSYBOU KANOJO was gone.

Not Yuki though! She shifted gears but slightly, updated her look and got to work, and before long NEMLESSS was before us. I … I may have taken that name too literally at first. But big deal! Her work there is really dang good, and her bestiedom with Sari led to the release of the split single with NECRONOMIDOL that was likely many a newer gaijin wota’s first exposure to the name, let alone the music.

Well, in the spirit of NOTICE ME, Yuki’s given us a lyric video to celebrate the startup of her new YouTube channel:

The song itself isn’t new — it was on the bonkers EP that she released last year, and may have even more history than that for all I know — but what you get here is an especially out-there version that absolutely cranks and has lyrics that flash by so quickly that those of us with the Japanese version of functional illiteracy have no idea what’s going on. And it introduces her YouTube channel, which you as a smart person will subscribe to so that you can get notifications as much as several days after the fact, if at all!
