Babymetal Is Going to Be Animated on Your TV

What the crap?

This is the Indiewire synopsis:

The action-adventure will take viewers inside the magical world of heavy metal music as it comes under attack, and one lonely god, Kitsune, forms the warrior band BABYMETAL to save the day. In the series, SU-METAL, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL join together to ultimately redefine the genre. The series will also feature new live-action performances from the group, who will enter the animated world through a secret portal.

Adding a lot more detail via Variety.

I swear to dog, if Amuse stole my idea …

Update: There’s just something that I wanted to add to this earlier, but I was running out the door and thankfully our friendly neighborhood commentators touched on it — this is hella idol. If the girls wind up voicing their own characters … well, Moa did used to want to go into voice acting.

Also, that “stole my idea” thing up there? I’ll share that with you all soon. A few folks know what I’m talking about. Maybe you’ll think it’s dumb, and that’s okay.

Also-also, I guess “on your TV” isn’t technically accurate as it could be anything from a web series to a Netflix series that you only view on a tablet or something. You get the idea, though.

  1. Oh god why???? Who was asking for this? What makes Babymetal great is how original and creative their music is. This is just and obvious and unnecessary cash grab. I get it, at the end of the day they’re an idol group so the name Babymetal is more important than anything else but come on. The only people that will maybe enjoy this are kids and the few people that like Babymetal because of how “kawaii” the girls are over their music. If they wanna make a story then they should put it in their music like Deathrabbit does.

  2. Just like the Funko Pops. They’re portraying characters, being turned into characters, NBD. Circle of life.

As long as they keep the KAMI out of it, I’ll be okay with this. Defending the honor of amazing Aidoru backing bands. The Girls come first! Arghh. See what you did, Koba 🙁
