Seeing this announcement last night sent me into a weird fit of going through Twitter and Facebook to see what I’d missed, but this is literally just popping out of the blue:

So the Queens of Yami-Kawaii are auditioning. And not just in that way that idol groups do, which is to always have an eye on available people who might be good fits (like how Bellheart holds auditions more or less constantly and hasn’t debuted a new member since Moechi graduated). Like, they’re looking for “highly motivated individuals.”
What the hell does that mean? I don’t know. Codomomental Twitter RTed the same Natalie story without any comment (they were more concerned with Yukueshirezutsurezure’s twitcast from earlier in the day). Zenbukimi’s playing the Aomori Rock Fes along with various other notables, and there aren’t any signs of trouble.
But think of the possibilities! They’ve basically always been a five-piece save for whatever gap there was between their only ex-member leaving and
Aza Yotsu (I always screw that up; thanks to the better memories of others) joining, and there’s not a ton of precedent for groups in this space getting a whole lot bigger than that. I could be convinced that Megumi wants to move to management full-time (possibly to expand the company’s portfolio, too, which has been going on with milcboy and Gauche, anyway), and the idea is to stay at five members.
Or they could be adding four members and building the first yami-kawaii baseball unit. Take your pick.
