Idol to Idol to Idol: An Odyssey

Okay, so you guys are possibly aware of Yannderu Ame, who were momentarily exciting a few months ago. Then they rebranded and became YAMIAME, basically the same thing, but not the same kind of dark and brooding tears-in-rain -core idols, but more we-are-somewhat-dark-and-hard idols. Then THAT BROKE UP ON STAGE to launch the literally no-joke temporary unit Imonikomi, which … honestly, I started to lose track of what the hell was going on at that point, but today, TODAY friends, they finally un-temporaried themselves as the latest iteration in this mad project’s long, not-at-all-graceful curve:

Thank you, PIH!

This Pun Is Too Good for the YAMIAME Post I’m Using It For

Okay, this is just a really random throw-together of stuff, but hear me about: YAMIAME was tweeting out lyrics to their songs a little while back, and I was like, oh, that might be a nice thing to collect and have available for the time that .25 people anywhere ever become very curious about untranslated lyrics of an underground idol group. Makes perfect sense! And I thought, “maybe it’ll be good to run on a rainy day.”

Rainy. Like the song title they have. LIKE THE NAME OF THE GROUP.

Nothing?

Pearls before swine, I swear … Continue reading

Yannderu Ame Is Now YAMIAME and Has a Lyric Video for You

I’m glad that this one got cleared up! So I’d been following the Idols Formerly Known as Yannderu Ame Etc. for a while, liking them enough to keep them on blast so I’d know for sure when they made announcements, added video, etc. And I noticed kind of recently that their Twitter bona fides are different, right down to the official account’s handle. And I thought little of it, because, well, I get kind of lazy sometimes.

That had me at “riffs”

That’s a really cool song! And it’s notably different compared to the last lyric video they put out, back when they were definitely still Yannderu Ame Etc. So … Continue reading

Get a Little More into What Yannderu Ame Sounds Like

Good morning! Things are returning to normalish: I’m getting some more time back finally, I think that I may have found a solution to that weird commenting thing (and please tell me yea or nay if it seems to be right for you), there’s idol things happening … yup, good times are upon us.

And to respond: Yesterday, Yannderu Ame chucked onto the world a lyric video for “Idol Love Memorandum”:

Thanks, PIH!

I Might Be Wrong, But This Was All the WTF I Could Handle for Tuesday

Hey team! So there’s plenty of “normal” stuff (that is, music videos etc.) today, or as normal as it gets for this whole business, but … you know how idols can get kind of creative in how and when they screw around, and how that tends to wind up on video, which then winds up on Twitter, when then winds up burning itself into the ancient reptilian part of your brain, which is probably exactly what they intended?

So Yannderu Ame, among the latest in sick-plus-disturbed-plus-crying idols, recently had themselves a little moment like that, I think. I say “I think” because what looks to me like a moment out of Ringu could simply be how they start the day, or part of a more elaborate bit of play-acting, I don’t know, don’t judge me.

Yannderu Ame and Their First Musical Teaser

Hi friends! You may have seen from John that Yannderu Watashi to Yamanai Ame (Twitter) exists. You may have also seen the information that I’ve lost track of, stuff on Facebook etc. that talked about their name and concept and stuff — the name’s like “I’m sickly watching the rain fall” but probably not as poetic as the “Tears in Rain” monologue but still pretty good — and the fact that they got Arisa from the ashes of the old Mugen Regina.

Anyway! The point here is not to tread back over stuff — it’s been covered, and with more genuine interest — but to hold up the shiny thing and get all excited about it. You know me. Continue reading
