Between graduations and disbandments and horrifying things that have been reported by idols — we’ll get to that part over the weekend — this hasn’t exactly been a great week for this thing that we all love together. And then along comes Shuuengo Buppan, insta-darlings of scenesters back when they debuted, then disbanded, then re-debuted, all because of their infectious sound and high-energy performance. They gave us this one yesterday, and I think we could all enjoy a nice injection of that energy:
Given that I was incredibly excited about the original launch of Shuuengo Buppan, I wish that I could put more into this post but time’s a-wastin’. Just, you know, if seeing swastikas* bothers you, you might want to skip it: Continue reading
I kid you not, three times in the past month I thought to myself, what’s Shuuengo Buppan doing? and then went and looked at their Twitter feed and saw that the answer was “the usual” and then personally went back to being annoyed at how little action is in idol lately. But damn, remember how this neat little project just shot out of the gate over the summer? And we were all really excited about them for a few weeks? The first thing about this new song from maybe the most exciting punk rock idol project debut in a long-ass time is that I probably enjoyed it the least out of everything they’ve put out so far, and it’s still a far cry better than a lot of what else winds up on the idol stage:
Also, re: the title of this post, it’s an terrible joke, I’m sorry. Continue reading
This is what I woke up to:

It does sound cool! Very cool! Like we’re-already-booked-at-TIF-and-haven’t-even-debuted-yet cool.
The dentist beckons, and John has very helpfully already handled the rest of the intro, so take it away!
Earlier this evening I was looking at the new posts in the Alt Idol Facebook group and came across a post by Viz about a new group called 終演後物販 (Shuuengo Buppan). He describes them as melocore, and after listening to them I would agree. Lets take a first, but brief look at Shuuengo Buppan.
