It’s here! Guso Drop’s first real video in like forever!
Made you look! That’s actually just video from Anna’s birthday live the other day. Pretty decent cover of “Headbanger!!” at any rate. No, it’s the “Gushin” video that you came for, and it’s the “Gushin” video that you’ll get. Continue reading →
Let’s set the right energy for what’s about to come next and come back to Broken by the Scream. Remember them? A landing place for an ex-969er? Part of that two-week stretch where it seemed like there was another metal-sounding unit either debuting or recently debuted or about to debut in a few months or something but WOW that’s a lot of metal are you sure you guys are okay?
Doop-dee-doop, surfing around through Twitter … hello, what’s this?
Why, it’s high school idols in corpse paint playing with the tools of suicide! How uplifting!
Say hello to Naniwa Six Immortals of Poetry, or Naniwa Rokkasen, as they like to be called. This song is from their first single, “Don’t Die!,” which is coming up at the end of the month. How fitting! I mean, overall, the song and video aren’t nearly as bleak as things start off, but it definitely has that “I kill” feel to it, with the excluded girl still harboring some ill feelings. It’s a song with a message. Continue reading →
OH MAN you guys, what feels like months of patience and endless hectoring and no shortage of questioning the very meaning of existence, the satanic circus that is Bokura no Oyugi is finally making an official release.
The correct answer is “I do! I do!” if you’re a fan. And it should be even if you aren’t, because while the pun doesn’t actually make any sense (or even actually be a pun, given that the title is something different), this is exciting-ass stuff:
I’m very sad that Kuronkeo no Yuutsu has run me flat out of nine-lives puns, and also sad that their disbandment is imminent. Their last PV is for a song called “Don’t Disappear” or something like that, and the whole shebang is just full of feels. Continue reading →
Kind of like I do with a few certain other groups, I like to check in on C-Style about once per week, just to see if I’m missing anything. And I almost did, because Babymetal and JAM took over last week. But check it out — an album in like two weeks!
We enter Know Your BiStory’s home stretch with what may as well be the alt-idol anthem: You ain’t done shit if you ain’t done “nerve.” Our man boans steps back up to the plate; if you like him, this is how you make friends.
nerve is one of BiS’ best known songs. It’s a fan favorite that was performed at every BiS concert (as an opener, a closer, an encore, sometimes many times in a row), and there’s a good chance it was the first BiS song you ever heard. With multiple studio recordings, and official videos from the very beginning and very end of the BiS timeline, the different versions of nerve each have different nuances that mark different points in their career.
