In Which I Use the New BiSH MV as a Vehicle

Well what the heck, you guys? Even though it was basically a given that BiSH would release another MV to promote the release of THE GUERiLLA BiSH, I don’t think anybody expected that it would appear out of nowhere on a Friday morning in Japan. Just like last time, they stayed true to the theme of the record!

My Captain

So that’s a pretty solid MV; I’ve never more wanted to be a guy tied to a chair, up to and including the apparent immolation-by-Ayuni. It was a wise choice, too, for the follow-up to “My landscape”, to convince that handful of people in the world who don’t already know that the album actually has a ton of upbeat intensity that BiSH is and always will be BiSH. For what it’s worth, I thought that “SMACK baby SMACK” was the best song on the album … and in wanting to say that and this one other thing* about it, I decided to include a miniaturized version of the review that I’ll now never publish. I’m Thankful for Aina Unplugged

Happy Thanksgiving! In honor of the messiest, most politically charged and family-destroying major holiday in the United States, I thought I’d save a couple of key items from the week to make it all seem just a little extra-special

This happened the other day:

“Ho hum,” quoth I, “I’m going to skip right the heck over that, because I bet it’s just some other dang thing and oh yeah it’s going to happen when I’ll be blissfully asleep. There’s no way that I’ll forget about that!”

Well. Continue reading

The Joke’s on Us for Joking about the WACK Shuffle; Election Impending

Well, at least all of that sudden noise is going to result in something more than a cynical cash grab.

Building on the (deserved) reception of SAiNT SEX and (sigh) the WACK shuffle album, the two-headed troll called Watakuma Kennosuke, in conjunction with the suits at avex, is going to hold … an idol election:

The top two vote-getters will get a solo single*; yes, the voting is facilitated by buying lots of CDs. Continue reading

I’m Actually Applauding Watanabe’s Stealth BiSH Album Release

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
— Some jerk called King James

I wasn’t actually even asleep yet when the messages started coming. But did I ignore them? You bet! It was late as hell and I was trying to wind down, not get into some mess. So imagine my surprise then to wake up to a chorus of humans calling out that BiSH had just Beyonce-released a new album:

/record scratch Continue reading

IDOL is LAZY, Apparently

I kid, I kid. You know that I’m pretty eagerly looking forward to whatever it is that WACK ultimately gets around to releasing from its stable, maybe except for EMPiRE, but especially BiSH now that Dickhead called the as-yet-unannounced album a “masterpiece” (he also teased new BiS auditions, for what that’s worth).

Anyway, the point is, when I see that there’s going to be a shuffle unit best-of-plus-covers-plus-etc CD coming out …

… but not, you know, actual albums or singles or anything, I feel a little let down. Continue reading

What the FXXK: We Don’t Deserve This WACK Collaboration

I Have a Suggestion for the Next Subtitling Project

Somebody hurry up and call boans and tell him to book that person who did the YMM and BRGH movies, because we’re going to need some dang translation and subtitling with a quickness.

A new WACKumentary, this one focused on BiSH instead of the nasty, brutish and short history of SiS, will be upon us in no time:

Here’s the trailer: Continue reading

Yeah, It’s Aina’s Best Collaboration

In case you missed it:

BiSH’s barbecue-voiced center, Aina the End, contributed vocals to this wild promo for a run of upcoming PS4 games:

Or, to put it more succinctly: Continue reading

So Who Wants to Put Bets on the Buildup, Event and Aftermath of WACK Fes?

This one almost slipped by me yesterday, which is funny considering that I’ve been trying to watch BiS/H/EMPiRE like a hawk over the past week for things that I think are inevitable but suddenly seem kind of evitable. Anyway, December 8:

The last time there was a WACK event of quite the type, it gave us The Trade, The Idol Eventually to Be Named EMPiRE and wasted a bunch of time from an audition process that actually changed very little for the company but probably sold Niconico a bunch of temporary subscriptions. Well, also, there was the family reunion: Continue reading

And a New BiSH Album Is on Its Way

Amid that other WACK business earlier, it also came out that BiSH will in fact sneak in a new album before the end of the year:

Untitled. 13 tracks, though I’m guessing some pickup from “GiANT KiLLERS” to keep the creative load light. Plus this “teenagers only and women only” tour of theirs, About a Girl, and fresh merch — the album announcement was last, so I actually spent a half second thinking that the creative well had itself run dry, and that Watanabe was trying to cash in by any means necessary, but naw, forget that.
