Don’t ask me where and how I first wound up following Production Axcis (that’s a company, not a group) and their Atelier di marionetta (pretty much literally, “dolls factory”*) on Twitter, but I’ve always been kind of confused about it and the two young women associated with it. I even did a search of old stuff on here just to make sure that I hadn’t previously written about them and forgotten it — nope.
So! They just (well, Friday) dropped this full-length MV on YouTube. The song is called “Poison Girl,” and though you’re probably seeing this in the morning, just try to imagine that you’re listening to it on the way to the three-story club that only cards on the first and third levels and mostly plays shit like Prodigy and Chemical Brothers and Skrillex on that coveted second floor, where you’re looking forward to drinking too much and getting stuck in a weird pelvic tangle with two strangers in leather who seem nice enough until they actually invite you back to their place and your brain immediately turns “their place” into “torture chamber” and you hurriedly find your friends and escape. Good night!
Can you believe that it’s been two months since I last wrote a dedicated Hauptharmonie post? What the hell is wrong with me? It’s not like they aren’t doing anything — since dropping their (very good, if jazzy Britpop shoegazer disco idols are your thing) album, they’ve done TIF and a bunch of regular shows and then just had themselves a great set at JAM this past weekend:
The Peach Stage, for when you deserve roughly the third best!
It had been on my radar to come back to Yandoll again because it’s been months since they last popped up in these parts, but everything I ever found was either old or of really low quality of something old. And Yandoll’s pretty nice and deserves better than to be repped like that. I kept striking out in my search, but it looks like Viz Major struck gold to the benefit of all:
Congratulations, NEVE SLIDE DOWN. In the minds of the readers of Homicidols.com (12 of them!), you’re going to win this battle against your future best frenemies in Yanakoto Sotto Mute. Savor victory while it lasts!
I’m very sad that Kuronkeo no Yuutsu has run me flat out of nine-lives puns, and also sad that their disbandment is imminent. They add a diffident coolness to an idol world that’s usually so earnest and deliberate, playing as what we used to call “alternative girls” way back when my neighbor’s older sister was smoking cloves in the woods and letting me borrow her Dead Milkmen shirts.
Their last PV is for a song called “Don’t Disappear” or something like that, and the whole shebang is just full of feels. Continue reading →
One of my favorite things about little pop punkers PiGU is the way they crank out content like it’s the only thing that matters. Sure, they have a cosplay cafe and stuff to promote, but the membership goes up and down and there’s new songs and videos and a DVD and one-man and … hey look, another new video!
In what’s being very roundly touted as a world first, You’ll Melt More’s brand-new video for “Hamidashi PARADEISE” is … well:
Very handy English version!
Well, my mind’s officially fucking blown for the day. How about yours? And how many iterations of that game are there? I’ve still only done it once. Does it always end the same way? Is it possible to find a path that results in your being physically absorbed into the screen and, while now physically dead, you get to live on forever as a digital-only member of YMM? (That’s the paradise part, I think.)
Kind of like I do with a few certain other groups, I like to check in on C-Style about once per week, just to see if I’m missing anything. And I almost did, because Babymetal and JAM took over last week. But check it out — an album in like two weeks!
